Podcast doesn't show on Spotify

Hi,

I am using podlove to publish my podcast on my website and it works very well. However when I submitted it to spotify, it got accepted but doesn’t show up on Spotify. I email tech support in spotify and they told me this:

"Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Looking backstage, we can see that your show isn’t live due to your cover art url not leading back to anything as well as your enclosure url not leading to a valid audio file. We suggest replacing these with valid urls in your RSS feed, you should be able to do so wherever your podcast is hosted. If you have any trouble, we recommend checking with your podcast hosting partner about making changes to your feed.

Let us know how it plays out. We’ll be here if you need any further help.

Best wishes,
Danny"

Now I am a little confused what I am supposed to do.

Thanks for the help in advance.

Best Regards,
Ilker

Hello Ilker

Please provide a link to your podcast RSS feed. This will help us to help you.

Hi Joey,

Thank you for your help.

RSS feed: http://brotkrümel-podcast.de/?feed=mp3

Your cover art URL is http://brotkrümel-podcast.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/ilker3.jpg. It is looking odd. Im not sure if there might be an escaping issue. ü is equal to an ü. I manually need to transform this URL to http://brotkrümel-podcast.de/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/ilker3.jpg to reach your cover art. This might in fact be a problem.

Fortunately the enclosure URL http://xn--brotkrmel-podcast-72b.de/episoden/BP002.mp3 seems to work.

@ericteubert, what is the correct way to escape a cover art URL in this case?

There’s indeed a bug with cover art url encoding. Here’s the proposed fix which should land in the next release: https://github.com/podlove/podlove-publisher/pull/1181
