Hey guys,
for years I used the given feed for my podcast that I host on Podlove and send to Spotify. It worked perfectly. All of a sudden the exact feed won’t work anymore and Spotify can’t grab it from Podlove. The error is: Retrieved unsupported status code “404”
AI says there is an issue with Wordpress…any ideas would be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Manuel
Hey,
it is really hard to debug without any information at all. Please link the feed and wordpress site, but even then it will be hard without further information. But at least a start.
Thank you!
I wasn’t sure which information would be helpful.
This is the feed: https://zukunftimgewerbehof.de/feed/mp3/
This is the Wordpress Site: https://zukunftimgewerbehof.de/luckenkien/
The player works just fine, but Spotify can’t grab the feed.
Thanks for the help!
Maybe spotify does not like the ssl certificate. https://www.castfeedvalidator.com/validate.php?url=https://zukunftimgewerbehof.de/feed/mp3/
Your Podcast Feed looks fine. Do you have some security plugins that will block US access for examples? When did the error occur?
PS:
And your Wordpress Sites makes some funny requests against 0.0.0.24. This is mostly likely not the problem, but shouldn’t happen as well. As well as your loads times are very long and you load scripts from sources like google font without constet or a privacy policy.
The Wordpress needs definlity some work

Hey!
The error occured recently. It always worked just fine. I assume there has been an update on Wordpress which is out of my hand - just like the entire hosting of this site. THe security prefs were checked. I simply have no clue and ai does neither
I even reached out to Spotify Support and there told me to check Wordpress.
Thanks for your help though!
without anymore information I at leaset can not help any further. Maybe some else?
But for me the feed works, even with a vpn in the us.

The feed is valid. Here’s another validator: Podbase - Podcast Validator

Thank you!
The only problem shown is the Byte-range support (which should’nt matter for Spotify)
I am clueless. Even had a talk with ai for three hours and followed all the steps without a solution.
Most likely it is an issue with Wordpress that I can’t get rid of :-/
I dont see why the Wordpress should be a problem. What kind of plugins do you have installed?
Hey,
these are all the Plugins. Note: the site is not built and hosted by me. I just use the Podlove-Plugin. It is just weird that it always worked…that is why I guess it hast to be some kind of update that was installed automatically.
Thank you!
Mh, the plugin list doesn’t show anything suspicious that would block access from amercian. Your RSS Feed works just fine, we all can access them and verify them. If a wordpress would affect the rss feed, we all would get an error. Could you try submit to spotify again and take a screenshot from the error message?
Hey,
the error says: “There seems to be something wrong with this URL. Please make sure you entered it correctly.
The link to the RSS feed belongs to a different podcast.”
But I never changed the feed and it worked…
Thank you!
Ah, I think we are getting closer
Are you trying to submit this feed as a new podcast? It seems like there is already a podcast registered under a different spotify account with the same rss feed.
Hey!
Yes, it is my feed from the start and it suddenly won’t work. It seems like a cicle somehow…but again: I assume the problem comes from Wordpress :-/
Alright, the 2. Jan. episode is displayed with Spotify, but the april one is not.
Maybe this will fix it: the duration on the 2. Jan episode says itunes:duration00:00:00</itunes:duration> in your feed. maybe spotify doesnt like this. try to calculate the episode duration again.
Hey,
very good point. I calculated the durations again but with no success :-/ I higly appreciate your effort, in fact the options seem to dwindle :-/
