In the episode editor screen, look for the “Media Files” section. Do you see the audio file URL, and does it validate?
Thanks - this question came from my friend. I ended up completely removing and reinstalling podlove publisher and rebuilding my episodes to get the error message to go away. The media files now occasionally disconnect and then have to be revalidated. Also, the episodes open in a completely blank page that does not appear to use the default template- only the player appears and it automatically starts playing.
We are working on a new set of tutorial videos. See if this one is helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UZrmPAcyrs Maybe you can tell me what you are doing differently than shown there.
Are you maybe clicking on the file URL, instead of opening the episode page? Because browsers usually display a minimalistic player without a website around it if you do so.
Thanks Eric - I created a new episode and followed the steps in your video. I was able to get a web page rather than just the player - but now the webpage is showing everything twice. Any ideas on a fix for that please? this is the page for reference: The Hindu Goddess Durga – Mythology and Navaratri - Durga Corps
Hi Eric - thanks for all your help!! I had the default being entered multiple times instead of just once in the template page. All is well now. It seems to be important to upload files as the episodes are created so they end up being saved in the podlove-media folder. I think this was the culprit all along as I was trying to save the files to the upload folder when I was previously getting the missing media error from the bug.
Happy to hear the issues are resolved now
Sadly, it is back. This is completely inexplicable. I have not changed any of the media files since it was working. The site was fine and now the media missing message is at the top of the page again. I can’t keep rebuilding the episodes. Please take a look and let me know if you can think of anything to resolve this. I have spent hours trying to fix it and am so sad that it is broken again. Podcast - Durga Corps
If the missing media message is going to keep randomly appearing, is there a way that I can get into the hard code of the message text to change that text to blank spaces so it will stop looking like my site is broken?
I’ve tried to create a new folder location for podcasts and link it to podlove that is not working. So I started over again and reinstalled the plugin. I completely deleted all of my podcast recordings and the episodes and reinstalled the podlove publisher plugin. When I run the assistant, podlove thinks all my data is still there and jumps to the “Congratulations” screen. even though the title, etc. is missing. Then on the dashboard, even though there are no longer any episodes, the stats list 2 and an average length. I’m reporting everything I find in the hope that something will illuminate the root cause of the missing media notifcation. I am hoping that the latest redo sticks and the zombie missing media error doesn’t return again. Fingers crossed.
