Podlove Analytics: agents

Hi,

I´ve identified a huge raising in my podcast analytics since I added it to Amazon Music. Investigating this bigger amount of listeners showed me, that the most download intents come from the US. I looked into my webserver logs and it seems that Amazon Music Podcast produces this high amount on my podcasts. But when I test it on my phone via the official app or at the web player the location is correct.

Has anyone identified a similar problem? How are the podlove agents updated? I know the update button at podlove tools, which I used manually, but I don´t really know, where the podcast agents come from? How are they in general updated? Can I help contribute? E.g. spotify doesn´t seem to be present to although my webserver gets this agent.

Is this repository used for user agents: https://github.com/opawg/podcast-rss-useragents/?

I’m using the matomo library for user agent detection (https://github.com/matomo-org/device-detector). It’s not really focused on podcast clients but I’ve added a lot of data in the past via pull requests. However I haven’t done that in a while.

Now that opawg exists, I should indeed rely on that instead. I created the feature request: https://github.com/podlove/podlove-publisher/issues/1153
